Most trips to western Uganda are sold from Kampala, five hours east. The itinerary arrives finished, the driver meets you at the airport, and the person who wrote the plan has never checked whether the Kibale morning walk is actually running that week.
Working from Fort Portal changes what we can offer. Kibale is thirty minutes down the road. The crater lakes are on our doorstep. Queen Elizabeth is a morning, Bwindi an afternoon. When a permit falls through or the weather turns, we can rearrange the day rather than apologise for it.
The trade is that we're small. We don't run a fleet or a booking engine. What you get instead is a direct line to the people who will be with you for the week.
