Dozens of explosion craters filled with deep green water, ringed by tea and banana country, with the Rwenzori behind them on a clear day.
The crater field south of Fort Portal is the reason the town looks the way it does. Lake Nkuruba, Lake Nyabikere, the Top of the World viewpoint — you can walk between several of them in a morning.
It is the easiest half day we run and the one people are most surprised by. Good for a first afternoon while you adjust, or a last one before a flight, and it pairs neatly with a tea estate visit.
